Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick Parks and Recreation Department is seeking input from citizens on what they would like to see included in the West Side Regional Park master plan. Three citizen meetings have been scheduled to view the proposed park master plan and discuss what residents would like to see on the 148 acre open farmland, also known as the Hargett Farm.
Roelkey Myers, Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation, will present the draft map of the park master plan that includes amenities such as an aquatic center and multipurpose fields. Public input will be sought from residents to determine what they would like to see in the proposed plan.
Mayor Randy McClement said, “The City is looking for your input and ideas. This area has great potential and we want to make sure we are making the best use of this park space. I encourage residents, business owners, sports leagues, anyone with an interest in this regional park, to attend a meeting and make your preferences known.”
The meeting dates and locations are as follows:
• Sunday, August 3rd at 1:00 PM – Hill Street Pavilion, 100 Hill Street
• Monday, August 4th at 6:00 PM – Municipal Annex Building, 140 West Patrick Street (This topic will be part of the Green Team Initiative meeting agenda)
