Mayor Institutes “Talk with the Mayor Tuesday”
Frederick, MD -- During his State of the City Address this evening, Mayor Randy McClement announced that he will be expanding his open door policy by instituting “Talk with the Mayor Tuesday”. This is time Mayor McClement has set aside to meet with citizens on a first come first serve basis to discuss the topics or issues of their choice. “Talk with the Mayor Tuesday’s” are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of each month from 2pm to 6pm and will begin Tuesday, August 26th.
“Even with smartphone apps, Twitter, Facebook and an incredibly comprehensive City website, reaching residents is still difficult. I believe the best way for citizens to communicate with their local government is face to face. Anyone is welcome to come to City Hall, pull up a chair in my office and tell me what’s on your mind. I am looking forward to Talk with the Mayor Tuesday’s as an additional way of bringing citizens and government together,” said McClement.
Residents will have an opportunity to talk about issues that relate to them and to ask questions. No appointment is necessary for Talk with the Mayor Tuesday. Meetings will be held on a first come, first served basis as time allows. City Hall is located at 101 North Court Street.
