On 07-19-2014, Frederick Police arrested 2 juveniles for assault, disorderly conduct and other charges.
On 07-19-2014 at approximately 0730 hours, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Colonial Way in an attempt to locate a wanted subject who was reported to be in the area. Upon their arrival, the officers encountered numerous subjects including one subject who matched the description of the wanted subject and refused to identify himself to the officers. This subject was observed to throw litter on the ground and was subsequently placed under arrest. The subject violently resisted being taken into custody and assaulted two officers as they attempted to handcuff him. Once handcuffed, the subject spit on and head butted a third officer as well. Two officers as well as the arrestee sustained minor injuries that required no medical attention. One officer was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital Emergency Room as a precaution, where he was treated and released.
During the arrest of the first subject, a second became disorderly and was arrested as well. Both subjects were juveniles so no further information on their identities will be released.
The first arrestee was charged with 3 counts of 2nd degree assault, 3 counts of 2nd degree assault on a law enforcement officer, littering, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and was ordered detained by officials with the Department of Juvenile Justice and was transported to a detention facility.
The second arrestee, who was charged only with disorderly conduct, was released to the custody of his mother.
