The Frederick Police Department would like to remind citizens about steps they could take to prevent becoming a victim of theft from motor vehicle. Theft from motor vehicle is one of the most prevalent crimes within the City of Frederick. This crime is often committed by juveniles acting alone or in groups. They usually target unlocked vehicles and steal items of value from within.
Please consider employing the following crime prevention suggestions:
Always lock you can doors
Report suspicious activity to the police no matter how minor you believe it may be
Remove all valuables from the vehicle
If unable to remove the item place it out of sight in your vehicle's trunk
Park in a well lighted area if possible
Consider installing an alarm and use if faithfully
