On 6/18/2014 Frederick Police investigated a telephone fraud scheme. The callers are identifying themselves as Pre Trail Processing. The phone number they are calling from is 206-430-5347. A search of the phone numbers shows it originating from Seattle Washington. On line there are numerous complaints about this phone number.
Several calls to the Pre Trail Processing resulted in new case numbers each time claiming the victim owed money for a loan that they defaulted on. The caller will not provide a name or location of their company or the company that has reportedly hired them to pursue the defaulted account.
The caller requested the last four digits of the victims social security number to access their account. The caller was threatening on the phone and told the victim they needed to pay immediately or the police would come arrest them.
The Frederick Police Department would like to remind citizens to take extreme caution with their personal information.
