Detectives investigate report of shots fired...
On 6/14/14, at approximately 0124 hours, officers and detectives with the Frederick Police Department responded to the area of 3rd St. and N. Market St. for a report of gunshots. A patrol officer was riding a bicycle downtown in the area when he heard the shots and reported the information.
Witnesses were contacted and said they saw several black males in the area, heard the gunfire, and then saw the males running away. Several vehicles were struck; however, there are no known people that were struck by the gunfire. No further description of the suspects was obtained.
The case is assigned to the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and is active and ongoing. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact Det. Jeff Putman, the lead detective, at 301-600-4112. Anonymous tips can be reported by calling 301-600-TIPS.
