Detectives with the Frederick Police Department arrest suspect who lit fire to vehicle with Molotov cocktail...
On 06/13/2014, at approximately 1938, hours Frederick Police officers responded to the area of Phebus Avenue at Degrange Street for a vehicle fire. The incident was quickly determined to be an arson investigation.
Through the course of the investigation a suspect was identified as Jeffery Lynn Jones, DOB 03/14/1956. Jones used an incendiary device (Molotov cocktail) to set fire to the victim’s vehicle which was parked on Phebus Avenue. The fire was immediately extinguished by Frederick Police officers, and the vehicle sustained minor damage. The suspect was found to be acquainted with the victim, and detectives determined this was not a random event.
Information and evidence was obtained linking Jones to the arson. Jones was arrested by detectives and was transported to Frederick County Central Booking without incident.
