On 06-06-2014, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the 500 block of Carrollton Drive, in Frederick City, in reference to an assault.
During the investigation, it was learned the suspect was verbally arguing with the victim. During the argument, the suspect entered his residence and returned to encounter the victim with a sword. The suspect pointed the sword at the victim’s neck and threatened him. When the victim turned toward the suspect, the suspect swung the sword at the victim in the area of his chest. The victim was able to block the sword, causing injury to his hand.
The suspect in this case was identified as, Shan Edward Oney. Oney was located at a nearby address and taken into custody. Oney was later transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center (FCADC) for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
The victim in this case was treated for his wounds at the Frederick Memorial Hospital and later released. Based on the information gathered through this investigation, it is being handled as an isolated incident between known associates.
