On 05-10-2014, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the Overlook Park, in Frederick City, in reference to a graffiti complaint. Through the investigation, it was determined there were several persons inside of the park spraying items with spray paint. With assistance from the public, a description of the suspects was provided and distributed to patrol officers in the area.
Shortly after the initial call for service, Officer First Class Michael Weaver located a person matching the description provided. This person was identified as, Darnell Omar Hampton. Hampton admitted to being responsible for the graffiti and spray paint cans were located in a backpack he was wearing.
Based on the above information, Hampton was placed under arrest. During a search of Hampton’s person and backpack, marijuana and a digital scale were located.
Hampton was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
