INCIDENT/ INFORMATION:

On January 26, 2012, at 1345hrs, the Frederick Police Department was notified by Maryland State Police, Westminster Barrack, that Matthew Alexander Parsons (w/m, 10-28-1989) was stopped by a trooper on a traffic stop. Parsons had an active arrest warrant through the Frederick Police Department’s Detective Gene Alston for charges related to the robbery that occurred on, 12-08-11, at approximately 1927 hours, at the Travel Lodge located at 20 Monocacy Blvd (See additional press releases below). Parsons was transported to Frederick County Adult Detention Center by Det. Alston without incident. Parsons has been charged with the following:
• Armed robbery
• Assault 1st degree
• Assault 2nd degree
• Burglary 1st degree
• Theft $1k to $10k
• Handgun on person
Parson’s bond was set at $475k.
The investigation remains ongoing as Frederick Police Department detectives continue to try to identify other suspects that may have been involved in this incident. On 12-16-2011, Det. Gene Alston, of the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, obtained charges in this case against:
Adam David Fotia
W/M, 05-06-1986
No fixed address
Through the course of the investigation, and with the assistance of Det. Romeril of the FCBI, Det. Alston determined Fotia and other suspects robbed the victim of cash and other items at gunpoint. Since the investigation is ongoing, additional details of the incident are not being released at this time.
Fotia is charged with:
1. Armed robbery
2. Conspiracy to commit armed robbery
3. Robbery
4. Conspiracy to commit robbery
5. Theft: $1,000 to under $10,000
6. Conspiracy to commit theft
7. Assault 1st degree
8. Assault 2nd degree
9. Burglary first degree
10. Conspiracy to commit burglary-first degree
11. Handgun on person
12. Firearm use in commission of felony/violent crime
13. Reckless endangerment

**Original Press Release by Sgt. Wayne Trapp**
On tonight’s date, 12-08-11, at approximately 1927 hours, members of the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division responded to the Travel Lodge located at 20 Monocacy Blvd for a report of an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two males renting a room were robbed inside their room by three males. The males were described as follows:
1) W/M grey hooded sweatshirt, black mask
2) W/M black sweatshirt, black mask
3) White or mixed race male, black sweatshirt.
The victims allege that the three male suspects knocked on the door and when one of the victims opened it, the three suspects charged into the room, displayed weapons, and demanded money and some other items. The suspects were in and out of the room within minutes. They fled the Travel Lodge in an unknown direction. It is unknown at this time if they fled in a vehicle or on foot. The Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the robbery at the time of this release.
