Bike to Work Day 2014 Schedule of Events
Frederick, MD -- 2014 Bike To Work Day is almost here and promises to be a morning of fun in Frederick! Bike To Work Day (BTWD) will take place on Friday, May16th, rain or shine. As part of the BTWD festivities, a pre-registration party and T-shirt pick up will be held on Friday, May 9th from 5:30 – 8:00 PM at The Bicycle Escape located in The Clemson Corner Shopping Center. The Bicycle Escape, along with The Frederick Wine House, Yogi Castle, Massage Envy and many other neighboring retailers will offer an evening of free food, beverages, and many other great surprises in support of Bike To Work Day. Basic bicycle check-ups will be provided by The Bicycle Escape.

Bike To Work Day is sponsored by TransIT Services of Frederick County. TransIT Services offers commuter resources for those interested in using alternative transportation including public transit, paratransit and commuter assistance services to Frederick County residents and area commuters. TransIT offers bicycle racks on many connector buses to make biking to work easy and inexpensive. The MARC Station, also known as the TransIT Center, the location of the Bike To Work Day pit stop in Frederick, serves as the arrival and departure site for most TransIT buses.

Wednesday - May 14th - 3:00 PM– Presentation of The City of Frederick’s Proclamation for Bike to Work Day - City Hall
Friday - May 16th
6:30 AM - Ceremonial Ride (Gather at Hood College)
6:40 AM - A Blessing of the Bikes and Remembering Our Cycling Friends
6:45 AM - Depart Hood College for City Hall
7:05 AM - Depart City Hall for the MARC Station
7:20 AM - Arrive at MARC Station – Master of Ceremonies John Fieseler, Executive Director of Tourism Council Of Frederick County, Inc.
