Frederick, MD - The Frederick Police Department along with the Frederick County Juvenile Delinquency Prevention and Policy Board (JDPPB), a subcommittee of the Local Management Board, will be holding a Youth Resource Fair on Thursday, May 15th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Orioles Nest - 1037 W. Patrick Street (backside of Westridge Shopping Center).
The Youth Resource Fair is a FREE event that will provide parents and youth and opportunity to get information on programs and services for youth ages 5-21 in Frederick County. Programs and services to be featured include: after-school programs, child & family services, dropout prevention, educational programs, hotlines & crisis services, job assistance, mental health, mentoring programs, substance abuse treatment, volunteer opportunities, etc.
There are a limited number of spots available for organizations and service providers to participate in this event.
The JDPPB has been working with families in Frederick County over the past several years to address the needs and identify gaps in services for youth in Frederick County. Through these interactions, parents have said that the lack of resources and not knowing where to find the resources for youth ages 5-21 is their number one issue.
In response to this, and to go along with The Youth Resource Fair, The JDPPB has created a guide aimed at assisting parents find resources for youth in Frederick County.
