Fire Hydrant Flushing Schedule Clarification
Frederick, MD -- Once a year The City of Frederick Department of Public Works clears the sediment from the City’s water mains by opening the fire hydrants and discharging water. During the flushing procedure water may appear cloudy or slightly discolored for a short period of time. Residents and businesses are asked to run their water for a few minutes to clear the lines.
Lines will be flushed according to the following schedule:
SECTION (1) - Monday May 12, 2014 - evening
Seventh Street northward, including Fredericktown Village, Spring Valley, Amber Meadows.
SECTION (2) - Tuesday May 13, 2014 - evening
East and West Patrick Street to Baughman’s Lane and everything northward to Seventh Street. Shookstown Road will also be included in this area.
SECTION (3) - Wednesday May 14, 2014 - evening
East and West Patrick Street and everything southward to the Route 15 interchange.
The following areas will be flushed during the day and evening between May 12th and May 14nd:
• Whittier,
• Deerbought
• Main Farm
• Worman’s Mill
• Clover Ridge
• North Crossing
• Willow Brooke Subdivisions
The Downtown area will be flushed on Wednesday, May 14th during the day.
