The FPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Anthony Alston for possession of Cocaine in a Large Amount.
On the evening of 4-5-14, members of the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting a narcotics investigation in the area of the Travelodge on Monocacy Blvd. Officers observed a subject, known to them as Anthony Alston, deposit trash in a public location and begin to leave. The trash was retrieved and found to contain cocaine residue and a room receipt for Travelodge.
Alston was subsequently stopped on US 70 and a quantity of money was located in the vehicle. As a result of the evidence obtained application was made for a search and seizure warrant for the room listed on the receipt, and was granted by a judge. During execution of the warrant approximately 7 ½ ounces of crack cocaine was located inside room along with Alston’s identification.
Alston was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking where he was charged with the following:
CDS Possession Large Amount
Possession with intent to Distribute Cocaine
Possession of Cocaine
Possession of paraphernalia
Alston was given an initial bond of $200,000 by the District Court Commissioner.
