A Frederick teen has been arrested and charged as an adult in an armed robbery...
On 03/10/2014, at approximately 2024 hours, officers with the Frederick Police Department responded to the 200 block of W South Street for a reported armed robbery. A victim was located who reported a known female associate had robbed him of his property.
Det. Petruzzello was assigned as the primary investigator in this case. A suspect was quickly identified as Kayla Renee Weeks. During the investigation, Det. Petruzzello was able to determine that the victim and Weeks were known associates to one another. Further, it was learned Weeks threatened the victim with a baseball bat while stealing the victim’s money.
On 03/27/2014, Det. Petruzzello applied for a Statement of Charges against Weeks for the armed robbery and associated charges. The District Court Commissioner issued an arrest warrant for weeks the same day. Det. Petruzzello later located Weeks in the 600 block of Chapel Alley Frederick, MD and arrested her on the outstanding warrant.
Weeks was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting an initial hearing before a District Court Commissioner.
