Frederick Police Department detectives make arrest in shooting...
On 2/6/14, at approximately 1721 hours, Frederick Police Department officers were dispatched to 90 Waverly Dr., in Frederick, MD, for a report of a shooting. Officers found the victim, a twenty-two year old male, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown with a non-life threatening injury.
Detectives with the Frederick Police Department conducted an investigation into the shooting and located a suspect. The suspect was determined to be an associate and roommate of the victim. The investigation revealed the suspect and victim were handling a handgun they found earlier in the day. When the suspect began handling the gun, he manipulated it in a negligent manner which caused the gun to go off. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to FCADC. Detectives believe this incident to be an isolated event. No suspect photo is available at this time.
