The City of Frederick is still experiencing numerous traffic signals that are out. It may be several days before these signals are back up and operational. The Frederick Police Department wants to remind motorist that Maryland Law requires that when a traffic signal is out that each vehicle must treat the intersection as a four way stop. Further, there may be a possibility that more signals may go down while the power is restored. This will be due to the power lines being de-energized in order to make repairs. Please use caution when approaching traffic signals that are out. The Frederick Police Department also asked that motorist be patient as it may take some time to get through these busier intersections.
