The Frederick Police Department has charged a Frederick man with robbery...
On Friday 01/31/2014, at approximately 1351 hours, Frederick Police Officers responded to a reported robbery in the area of 1080 W Patrick Street Frederick, MD. Officers located a victim of an assault who stated he had money stolen from him.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Det. McKinney was assigned as the lead investigator in this case. Det. McKinney was able to quickly identify a suspect in this case. That suspect was identified to be Marquis Franklin Fitts.
Through subsequent investigation Det. McKinney determined that Fitts and the victim were known to one another and had been in the area together prior to the robbery.
Det. McKinney applied for charges against Fitts in this case and an arrest warrant was issued on Friday 01/31/2014 charging Fitts with crimes related to this case. On 02/03/2014 Fitts was located in the 100 block of W Patrick Street and taken into custody by detectives without further incident.
Fitts is currently incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
