Officers with the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit seize over 2lbs of marijuana from traffic stop.
On the evening of 02-04-2014, members of the Frederick Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Pearl St and S Jefferson St for an equipment violation. Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle, identified as James Christopher Macdonald 09/20/1984, and based on their observations requested a K-9 unit conduct a sniff of the exterior of the vehicle.
The K-9, Baron, positively indicated for the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Macdonald was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle was conducted resulting in the seizure of over 2lbs of marijuana.
Macdonald was transported without incident to Central Booking for further processing. Macdonald was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana. Macdonald is currently awaiting an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
