-MEDIA ADVISORY-Curbside Recycling Affected By Inclement Weather
Frederick, MD - Due to inclement weather on Monday, February 3, curbside recycling collection has experienced delays. Collection crews are currently collecting as many as households’ recyclables as possible, but not all collections will be completed today. Collection crews will return to complete unfinished routes tomorrow, Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
To assist with this effort, residents who normally recycle today should leave recycling carts out all day Monday and if materials are still in them at the end of the day, carts should be left out over night as crews will return to empty them tomorrow. This may affect portions of the City of Frederick, Walkersville, Woodsboro and surrounding areas. Residents are also asked to remove emptied carts from the roadside once recyclables have been picked up, in order to assist the county’s Highway Operations Department with continuing snow removal operations.
For specific information on the status of your street’s curbside collection, please call Allied Waste Services at 301-694-6498. General information and updates on the status of the curbside recycling collection can also be obtained by visiting the Office of Recycling’s website at: www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/recycle or by calling 301-600-2960 to hear regularly updated voice recordings. Additionally, a mobile app is available to alert residents to changes in their recycling schedule; it may be downloaded for free at www.my-waste.mobi/FrederickMD.
