The Frederick Police Department has made an arrest of one subject and has an warrant for another subject for a November 2, 2013 assault with a baseball bat investigation.
On November 02, 2013, at approximately 0250 hours Officer Sparks, from the Frederick Police Department responded to the 1400 Block of Key Parkway for a report of an assault. Upon arrival she located a male victim suffering from injuries to his face, head and body, of which he sustained by two unknown male suspects with baseball bats. The victim was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
With assistance from the community, fellow patrol officers and detectives, OFC. Sparks identified two suspects, Darwin Aries-Meijia and Jose Lopez-Rivera. OFC Sparks applied for and obtained arrest warrants for both individuals. Darwin Aries-Meijia was arrested on December 30, 2013, and is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. Mr. Lopez-Rivera remains at large at this time.
