Frederick Police Department detectives investigate an attempted armed robbery in which a gunshot was fired....
On 1/23/14, at approximately 2020 hours, Frederick Police Department officers responded to the area of the 1000 block of Redfield Ct. Frederick, MD for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located a male who said he was the victim of an attempted robbery.
The victim told police he was in the area of Rt. 40 and Hillcrest Dr when he was first approached by the suspect. The victim continued walking on Hillcrest Dr, and noticed the suspect followed him to the area of Redfield Ct. The suspect then approached the victim and assaulted him and demanded property. The victim attempted to flee, and the suspect fired a gun at the victim. The suspect fled the area on foot, and the victim was not hurt in the altercation.
The suspect was described as:
• Black male
• Approximately 5’10” to 6’0”
• Dark hooded sweatshirt
• Dark pants
• Dark mask covering the bottom half of his face
