Charges have been filed on a Frederick man for burglarizing a local church...
On October 1, 2012 Frederick Police officers responded to a reported burglary at a Frederick City Church. Investigation revealed that the suspects entered the church by breaking a window. The suspects then stole currency from within the church.
Det. Forrest was assigned as the lead investigator in the case. Det. Forrest was also investigating a separate church burglary and a burglary to a local business which police thought may have been committed by the same suspects. In those cases a suspect, Timothy Eric Ayers, was identified and charged as a result of Det. Forrest’s investigation.
On January 7, 2014 Det. Forrest received a fingerprint comparison identifying Ayers as the suspect in this church burglary case. Ayers was subsequently charged with the burglary and related offenses in this case. On January 20, 2014 a criminal summons was served on Ayers at the MD Correctional Training Center in Hagerstown, MD where Ayers is serving a sentence on the previous charges.
