Plan for Homeless Services during Inclement Weather
Frederick, MD – With the impending forecast of frigid temperatures, The City of Frederick has announced the following plan for homeless services for Monday, January 6th and Tuesday, January 7th.
The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs (RCEHN) has announced that the Alan Linton Emergency Shelter will be opening early on Monday, January 6th and Tuesday, January 7th. The shelter will open at 5:30 pm on both days. The 80-bed shelter is located at 27 DeGrange Street in Frederick, MD and provides emergency shelter for men and women.
The Frederick Rescue Mission, located at 419 West South Street in Frederick, MD will operate a "day shelter" that will be open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on both Monday and Tuesday. The Rescue Mission will also be serving free breakfast and lunch meals, as usual, on both days.
The Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA), located at 100 South Market Street in Frederick, MD will also be open as usual. The FCAA will offer a free evening meal on both days from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Other services that will be available include case management, primary health care, and Foodbank services.
