At 6:16 p.m., Frederick Police officers responded to the intersection of Old Camp Rd and Havilland Pl. for a report of a traffic collision where a pedestrian was struck.
Upon arrival of police, it was determined that a 10 year-old girl was crossing Old Camp Rd at Havilland Pl when she was struck by a passenger car traveling southbound on Old Camp Rd.
Frederick County Fire/Rescue units also responded and rendered emergency medical care to the victim then transferred her to MD State Police helecopter Trooper 3 for medical evacuation to Children’s’ National Hospital where she was admitted and is listed in stable condition.
A FPD Traffic Collision Reconstruction team responded to the scene to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The roadway was closed for approximately four hours.
The investigation continues and no charges have been filed at this time.
