Frederick Police detectives are investigating the death...
On Saturday, November 30th, 2013, at approximately 1936 hours, officers responded to a welfare check in a wooded area to the rear of 1092 Greenwall Pl in Frederick, MD. Upon arrival, police discovered an unresponsive male victim on a dirt path at that location. The male was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male was identified as, Merlin Edjardo Alvarez Garcia, a twenty three year old Frederick resident. The victim sustained life threatening injuries that are believed to be the result of a stabbing. Detectives are treating this investigation as a homicide and remain on scene continuing to gather information. The victim’s body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, and detectives are awaiting the preliminary results of an autopsy that will occur later this morning.
