On 04/10/12, officers with the Frederick Police Department responded to a 911 call in the 1300 block of N. East St. in Frederick, MD for a report of an armed home invasion. The victim in the case was bleeding from his face and head, and reported that he was attacked, and struck several times with a shotgun by a male and female suspect. The victim was taken to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore due to his injuries. Since the incident, the victim has made a full recovery.
During the course of the investigation by Criminal Investigation Division detectives, the female was identified as Phylicia Barnes. Barnes was located and charged by the lead investigator, Det. Curt Lege, with armed robbery, robbery, first and second degree assault, third and fourth degree burglary, theft less than $1000, reckless endangerment and conspiracy of all of the above.
During the course of the investigation, which spanned several months, Det. Lege identified the second suspect in the case as Deon Barron Lacey. On 1/1/2013, a warrant was issued for Lacey’s arrest for armed robbery, robbery, first and second degree assault, first, third and fourth degree burglary, and theft less than $1000.
On 11/08/2013, Lacey was arrested in Prince George’s County, MD in reference to the outstanding warrant in this case. On 11/26/13, Mr. Lacey was transported back to Frederick, MD by detectives for an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. Mr. Lacey is currently being held on $650,000 bond and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 12/18/2013 on the case.
