City Government Offices Closed For Thanksgiving
Trash/Yard Waste Collection Details Below
Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick Government Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Offices will reopen at regularly scheduled times on Monday, December 2nd .
Clarification to the schedule is as follows:
• The Frederick Community Action Agency Soup Kitchen will be open on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th serving free evening meals from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. All other services will re-open on Monday, December 2nd
• The Food Bank will be closed Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th
• All City parking decks will be open for free parking from Thursday, November 28th, Thanksgiving Day thru Sunday evening, December 1st. The parking decks will resume normal operations at 6:00AM on Monday morning, December 2nd.
Parking meters are also free during this time.
• The Wm. Talley Fitness Center:
o Wednesday, November 27th - Close at 8:00 PM
o Thursday, November 28th - Closed
o Friday November 29th - Open at 8:00 AM.
Trash/Yard Waste Collection Services
There will be NO trash collection service on Thursday, November 28nd or Friday, November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING:
Residents who are on the ONCE A WEEK collection schedule are asked to do the following:
• If you normally set your household trash out on Wednesday evening for Thursday collection please put your trash out on Thursday for Friday collection.
• If you normally set your household trash out on Thursday evening for Friday collection please put your trash out on Friday for Saturday collection.
Downtown Business District trash WILL NOT be collected on Thursday, November 28th but will return to normal trash and recycling schedule on Friday, November 29th.
There will be NO yard waste collection on Thursday, November 28th or Friday, November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Residents are asked to hold their yard waste until the next scheduled collection date.
