INCIDENT/ INFORMATION: On 01-11-12 at approximately 2250 hrs. Officers responded to the lobby of Motel 6 on Baughman’s La. in Frederick for a reported disorderly subject with a knife. Upon arrival the officers contacted the suspect, Burns as he was walking from the lobby into the parking lot. Burns had his hands in his pockets. Officers instructed Burns to show his hands, he refused and began to walk away from them. As officers attempted to restrain Burns he began to actively resist. While officers were attempting to put Burns in handcuffs, he began to try to retrieve a fixed blade knife from a sheath on his belt. Off. Keesecker immediately grabbed the sheath to keep Burns from accessing the knife. Other officers were able to apply handcuffs to the suspect without further incident. The suspect continued to violently resist the officers while attempting to spit on them as they placed him into a patrol car. During a search incident to arrest, Burns was found to be in possession of a combat folding knife, a sheath knife, a stun gun, a window breaker tool, and a folding baton. He was transported to Central Booking for an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $95,000.00 bond.
