City Hall to Serve as Public Returns Center for 2013 City Elections
FREDERICK, MD -- The City of Frederick Board of Supervisors of Elections has announced that the public returns center for the 2013 City of Frederick elections will once again be held at City Hall, the heart of City government. The City of Frederick voters will be able to receive City General Election results from the Board of Supervisors of Elections after voting locations close on Tuesday, November 5th, in the following ways:
• Visit the City of Frederick elections website at www.cityoffrederick.com/elections
• Watch City Cable Government Channel 99.
• Join the media and candidates as they gather in the “public returns center” in the first floor Boardroom of City Hall to continue a long-standing tradition of receiving announcements from election officials as the ballots are counted. Doors to City Hall will remain open to accommodate citizens dropping off absentee ballots – all ballots must be cast by 8:00 PM. City Hall is located at 101 N. Court Street, Frederick, MD.
• Hard copies will be distributed to those present at City Hall as they are released by the Frederick City Board of Supervisors of Elections.
The City of Frederick election website offers a listing of candidates, precinct maps and other items of interest to voters. A new link, polling place locator, helps citizens locate their polling places.
Polling place results reported on election night are considered “unofficial” until election officials certify all polling places and absentee ballots on November 7, 2013.
The Absentee Canvass will be held on November 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Boardroom in City Hall. At that time, the Frederick City Board of Supervisors of Elections, sitting as the Board of Canvassers for the City, will begin the process of opening, reviewing, and/or counting absentee ballots cast in the November 5, 2013 City General Election.
