Officers responded to the area of the 200 block of East Church St after a complainant observed two males acting suspicious. When the officers arrived they conducted a search of the area and located the two males breaking into an unlocked vehicle.
On 10/15/2013, at approximately 11:38 AM, Officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the area of the 200 block of East Church St after a complainant observed two males acting suspicious. When the officers arrived they conducted a search of the area and located the two males breaking into an unlocked vehicle. The males were arrested and identified as Behn Yanak Brown and Gary Steven Llyod Jr.
When the officers searched Brown, he was found to be in possession of several personal checks that had been reported stolen on a previous date.
Through the officer’s investigation they were able to learn that Brown and Llyod had attempted to break into several other vehicles in the area, but were unsuccessful because those vehicles were locked.
Brown and Llyod were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing. Brown was charged with theft under $100, rogue and vagabond, and 3 counts of tampering with a motor vehicle. Lloyd was charged with rogue and vagabond and 3 counts of tampering with a motor vehicle.
The Frederick Police Department is asking the public to please lock their vehicles when left unattended. Also, please do not leave valuable items unsecured and in plain view inside your vehicle when left unattended.
