Police respond to a suspicious package at Frederick Community College
On 09/26/13 at 1930 hrs, Frederick Community College Security personnel contacted the Frederick Police Department in reference to a possible suspicious package found in the cafeteria.
Frederick Police Patrol Officers and Detectives arrived on scene and worked in cooperation with officials from Frederick Community College. The decision was made to evacuate the school as a precaution while an investigation into the item and its contents was underway.
With the assistance of the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office the item was determine to be safe and of no danger to students or faculty.
The steps taken by the college and police were done so with the utmost care and caution for the welfare and protection of all. We are thankful for the cooperative efforts of FCC employees and our law enforcement partners.
The campus was reopened at approximately 10:45pm
