Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick would like to share several recently completed transportation improvements.
E. South St at S. East St
In October 2011, the City of Frederick Department of Public Works completed geometric improvements to South Street at East Street. These improvements provide a separate westbound left-turn lane for motorists using South Street to access the I-70 interchange. In addition to the turn lane, signal modifications were installed to improve intersection operations and safety.
Rosemont Avenue corridor
The City of Frederick Engineering Department has been working on a revised traffic signal timing plan along Rosemont Avenue from 2nd Street to Montevue Lane. In coordination with the City of Frederick Department of Public Works Street Lights & Signal division, several equipment upgrades have been installed to assist with the signal coordination and new signal timing plan. The City of Frederick anticipates implementing the new signal timing plan in early January.
Mayor Randy McClement said, “I am pleased that we are able to move forward with these traffic improvements. The East South Street and Rosemont Avenue corridor enhancements should boost our resident’s ability to travel through our City.”
