On 06/19/2013 at approximately 4:49pm the Frederick Police Department responded to a serious vehicular accident involving three vehicles at the intersection of West Patrick Street and Blentlinger Road.
On 06/19/2013 at approximately 4:49pm members of the Frederick Police Department and Frederick County EMS/Fire personal responded to the intersection of West Patrick Street and Blentlinger Road for a personal injury accident involving three vehicles. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the driver of a Ford SUV, traveling eastbound in the 1500 Blk of West Patrick Street, lost control of his vehicle and struck a BMW and a Dodge pick-up truck that were waiting to turn westbound on West Patrick Street from the divide at West Patrick Street and Blentlinger Road.
The driver of the Dodge truck was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the BMW was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital, and the driver of the Ford SUV was transported to Meritus Care Center in Hagerstown, MD. Both of these drivers were treated for minor injuries and released.
Due to the severity of the injuries sustained by one of the drivers, an accident reconstruction team was called in to conduct an in-depth, thorough investigation. This case is open and ongoing at this time. Additional information on the investigation and any updates to the condition of the remaining victim will be released at a later date. Further the 1500 Blk of West Patrick is now open for traffic flow.
