The Frederick Police Department Criminal Investigation Division has charged a man in connection with the sexual abuse of two minors.
The Frederick Police Department received information in January 2013 regarding the sexual abuse of minors that had occurred in 2009 and 2010. The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division and Detective Holler was assigned as the lead investigator in the case.
Detective Holler was able to identify the suspect in this case as Jose Manuel Vasquez Hernandez. The investigation revealed that during a period of time between 2009 and 2010 Vasquez Hernandez sexually abused two minors who were known to him.
At the time this information was received Jose Manuel Vasquez Hernandez was incarcerated at the Maryland Correctional Institution Hagerstown (MCI) serving a sentence he received in regards to another victim of sexual abuse which occurred during the same time frame as this current case. On 08/18/2011 Jose Manuel Vasquez Hernandez plead guilty to sex abuse of a minor in Frederick County Circuit Court. Vasquez Hernandez was sentenced in that case to 25 years in MD Division of Corrections, 15 years of that sentence was suspended. Vasquez Hernandez is currently serving this sentence at MCI Hagerstown.
On 04/08/2013 the Frederick County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Vasquez Hernandez with the below crimes related to the investigation assigned to Detective Holler in January 2013.
On 05/03/2013 Det. Alston with the Frederick Police Department served the arrest warrant on Vasquez Hernandez during an appearance in Frederick County Court.
