Multi-Agency Police investigation leads to 15 felony arrests, 10 Search and Seizure Warrants and the recovery of 6 firearms.
The Frederick Police Department is pleased to announce the results of a long term joint criminal investigation involving the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit and Crime Analysis Team and the Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit, which also involved the cooperative efforts of the Frederick County State’s Attorneys Office along with many other officers and detectives from the Frederick Police Department, the Maryland State Police, and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
This investigation began in September of 2012 as the result of observed ongoing criminal activity in the south side of Frederick. The investigation was named “The Money Team Investigation,” based on a group of individuals identifying themselves as “The Money Team.”
As the investigation progressed, the MSP Gang Enforcement Unit and the FPD Drug Enforcement Unit coordinated closely with the Frederick County State’s Attorney Office to discuss strategy and charges, which culminated in the below listed grand jury indictments.
“The Money Team Investigation” resulted in fifteen (15) felony arrests, ten (10) search and seizure warrants on residences, the confiscation of six (6) firearms, and the significant seizure of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, heroin, and ecstasy.

Frederick Police Chief Thomas Ledwell stated, “The success of this criminal investigation was a direct result of full coordination and cooperation between partnering law enforcement agencies. The Frederick Police Department will continue to address community issues and will take a proactive approach to crime reduction in Frederick City.”
