The Frederick Police Department in partnership with Whitesell Pharmacy and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will be hosting a Medication Turn-in event on Saturday April 27th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will be held at Harry Grove Stadium, 21 Stadium Drive, Frederick, MD.
During the event, citizens are encouraged to drop off unused or expired medications. Those who are concerned about privacy should remove all personally identifiable information from medicine bottles or containers. However, all information will be kept confidential and the medications will be kept in a secure container until disposal. This program will provide citizens a safe, legal and environmentally acceptable way to dispose of medication.
Acceptable items include prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, medical samples, pet medication, and medicated ointments and lotions. Items that are NOT acceptable are oxygen tanks, IV bags, blood or infectious waste, and thermometers.
