On today's date, 04-13-13, an officer with the Frederick Police Department attempted to stop an erratic driver on N. Market St. The vehicle failed to stop and led police on a pursuit to Hagerstown and back toward Frederick. Driver had 3 open warrants.
On tonight's date, 04-13-13, at approximately 0127, OFC McPeak with the Frederick Police Department's Patrol Division attempted to stop a vehicle for erratic driving on N. Market St. near 3rd St. The vehicle failed to stop and began a police pursuit that led officers from Frederick PD, Frederick County Sheriff's Office, and MSP (to include helicopter) to Hagerstown and then back toward Frederick on I-70. On several occassions officers were able to utilize Stop Stix to flatten the tires.
In the area of I-70 just east of Rt. 17, Sgt. Trapp and Sgt. Lee with the Frederick Police Department were able to deploy two sets of Stop Stix across the entire highway which ultimately disabled the vehicle's tires. The driver, Mr. Ketterman, was apprehended without incident when his vehicle came to a stop just east of Harmony Rd on I-70. It was discovered his license was suspended and he had three open arrest warrants out of Montgomery County.
There were no injuries nor were there any traffic accidents as a result of the pursuit, which took place over mainly empty roadways. Mr. Ketterman was still being processed at the time of this release and no photos are available and he has not been before a Commissioner for a bond hearing.
