The City of Frederick Remembers Former Alderman Sally Murphy
Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick is deeply saddened by the passing of Sally G. Murphy, former Alderman of The City of Frederick. Mrs. Murphy was elected to the Board of Aldermen for two consecutive terms serving the City from 1990 – 1998. Ms. Murphy also dedicated her time to the City as a member of the Planning Commission prior to serving on the Board of Aldermen.
“It is because of the commitment and dedication of individuals like Sally Murphy that our City has been able to achieve the high standards we offer our citizens and be the wonderful municipality The City of Frederick is today. We are definitely a better community as a result of the many talents of Mrs. Murphy!” said Mayor Randy McClement.
Ms. Murphy will be buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery beside her late husband, James M. Murphy, who also served The City of Frederick as Alderman from 1978 until his death on December 9, 1988.
