An initial call for a stolen vehicle on 01/14/13 leads to an investiagtion where charges ranging from vehicle theft and burlgary, to credit card fraud and rogue and vagabond, are placed on 3 suspects. One of the suspects is a juvenile male, and the other 2 are adult males. OFC Gregory Loftis of the Frederick Police Department's Street Crimes Unit filed the paperwork on 03/07/13. He was assisted in the investigation by Patrol officers, as well as members of the Crime Analysis Team.
The initial incident occurred on 01/14/13 in the 3000 block of Cloister Way, when the victim found that his 2000 Ford Expedition along iwth several other items inside his house were missing. Officers first responding discovered that the suspects had broken into another vehicle outside, and stole keys that were for the residence and the stolen Expedition. Credit cards, an Ipad and other personal items were taken from the vehicles and the residence. Tracking of the stolen cards enabled OFC Loftis to identify the suspects through store surveillance. Interviews with the suspects led to confessions about their involvement in the crime spree. This investigation could not have been completed without diligence and a substantial amount of time and hard work. The two adults were served with arrest warrants early in the evening of 03/12/13.

Suspect 2: Valentine, Michael Dequan

400 blk Arwell Court Frederick, MD
Charges: 13 counts to include Vehicle Theft and numerous other theft related charges.
Suspect 3 is a juvenile and was charged through the Department of Juvenile Services.
