INCIDENT/ INFORMATION:

On 12-09-2011 @ approximately 17:24 The Criminal Investigation Division placed under arrest Mr. Tayquan Cornwell Palmer for his role in the armed robbery of an individual in the Brookside Apartment complex. He is the second suspect that has been arrested in reference to this incident (see original press release below). Both Mr. Palmer and his accomplice Mr. Jerrel Smith pulled out knives, threatened the victim, and stole items from his apartment. Mr. Palmer was positively identified by the victim in a follow-up interview by Det. Alston. Mr. Palmer is 4-10, 115 lbs and is sixteen years of age.
Mr. Palmer was located at 499 East Church Street by Det. Lapp and Det. Ames. After a brief foot chase Mr. Palmer was taken into custody with assistance from the patrol division. Based on the evidence collected and information obtained Mr. Palmer was transported to central booking and charged as an adult.
Original Press Release
On 12/9/2011 at approximately 2:36 am the Frederick Police Department received a call for an armed robbery in the 100 block of Willowdale Drive. First responding officers made contact with the victim who stated 2 black males known to him, entered his apartment and brandished a knife taking several items. The victim attempted to defend himself using a baseball bat. One of the suspects, later identified as Jerrell Smith, attempted to stab the victim cutting his jacket. Both suspects then left the apartment with the stolen items. The first suspect was described as a black male 16 years of age wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt and the second male was around the same age wearing a red sweatshirt.
Ofc Gregory Loftis was in the area and on the lookout for the suspects. OFC Loftis located Jerrell Smith in the area; based on the information obtained and evidence collected Mr. Smith was arrested and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he was charged as an adult and being held on $50,000 bond
The Second suspect is described as a black male 5 foot 1 inches tall 125 pounds last seen wearing a red hooded sweat shirt. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Corporal Tomas Tokarz at 301-600-1240 or one of the below listed crime tip locations
