Burglary in progress at Rentals Unlimited, 36 Thomas Johnson Drive, results in vehicle pursuit and arrest of two suspects.
On 02-21-13 at approximately 0250 hrs. Off. Todd Keeran and Off. William Folden were dispatched to a burglar alarm at Rentals Unlimited at 363 Thomas Johnson Drive. Off. Keeran was near the location and immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival he observed a White Ford Van leaving the scene. When Off. Keeran attempted to stop the van the suspect driver struck his marked police cruiser and fled the area. Off. Keeran gave chase and was joined by Off. Folden as the vehicle pursuit progressed onto Rt. #15 Southbound. The suspects left the highway at Rt. #40 West and proceeded into the Linden Hills area. The van stopped in a private driveway near Oak Street where two suspects bailed from the van on foot. As multiple officers responded to the scene the suspects were apprehended hiding under another nearby vehicle.
The suspects have not been fully identified at this point. The follow up investigation is currently underway by Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division. Rentals Unlimited was found to have been forcibly entered and is also being processed as a crime scene. At this time it is believed the van driven by the suspects is stolen from another jurisdiction. None of the officers or suspects involved in this incident were injured.
