The City of Frederick and Women Fly It Forward will hold a joint press conference at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 13th in the Boardroom of City Hall, located at 101 North Court Street.

Joint Press Conference Scheduled for
The City of Frederick and Women Fly It Forward


Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick and Women Fly It Forward will hold a joint press conference at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 13th in the Boardroom of City Hall, located at 101 North Court Street.

The press conference will include information on the Women in Aviation Fly It Forward Worldwide Aviation Week activities scheduled at Frederick Municipal Airport the week of March 4 – 10, 2013. Frederick Municipal Airport earned awards in 2011 and 2012 due to its participation in Women of Aviation Worldwide Week by introducing over 400 girls and women to aviation.

Among the many planned activities, Frederick Municipal Airport and Women Fly It Forward Frederick invite girls and women who have not yet experienced flight in a small aircraft to take their first flight during Women of Aviation Worldwide Week, March 4-10, 2013.

On March 9th, celebrating 50 years of women in space, Frederick Municipal Airport will host three special presentations from NASA guests, including a female astronaut. In addition, the City and Women Fly It Forward will be highlighting and honoring another special cause – women who are presently battling breast cancer and survivors of breast cancer will be given free flights on Saturday, March 9th.

All members of the press are invited to attend and learn more about the great impact Frederick Municipal Airport and Women Fly It Forward Frederick are making on women of all ages.
