Frederick Police arrested Mr. Datwon Davon Diggs for his involvement in an armed robbery that occurred on 12-22-2012 in the area of 1096 Greenwall Place in Frederick Maryland.
On 01-22-2012 Officer Chiaravalloti was on routine patrol in the area of Hillcrest Drive when he was flagged down by an individual who told the officer that he had been robbed at gunpoint while delivering pizza. The victim stated that while making a delivery in the Westwinds Apartment complex he observed a group of people standing in the stairwell. As he entered the building he was followed by a light skinned black male with glasses who pointed a gun at him and demanded money. A second suspect approached and pointed a second gun at the victim. The suspects went through the victims pockets and removed U.S. currency and took the pizza order.
This incident was forwarded to the criminal investigations division for follow up and Detective Garcia was assigned as the lead investigator. With assistance from the patrol division Det. Garcia was able to positively identify Mr. Diggs as being one of the suspects who pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. Mr. Diggs was arrested on 01-28-2013 by Det. Garcia and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing.
This investigation remains open as Detective Garcia attempts to identify other suspects involved.
