Frederick Police charged Mr. Terrence Kerns with first degree burglary for an incident that occurred in May of 2012. The burglary occurred in the Brookside Apartments located on Willowdale Drive in Frederick Maryland.
On May 08, 2012 officers with the Frederick Police Department responded to 152 Willowdale Drive for a burglary complainant. The victim stated that while asleep in the bedroom of her apartment, an unknown subject entered her bedroom, put a hand over her mouth and stated “I have a gun, don’t scream’. She screamed and struggled with the intruder and during the struggle she bit him on the hand, causing a laceration to the suspect’s hand. The suspect left the bedroom area and fled from the scene out the front door. The victim called 911 and patrol units searched the area without success. The victim suffered minor abrasions during the altercation.
Det. Alston was assigned the case back in May of 2012 and during his investigation he was able to positively identify Mr. Terrence Tirell Kerns Jr. as the individual responsible for the burglary and assault. Mr. Kerns was served with the arrest warrant at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. He has been incarcerated at the jail on unrelated charges. Mr. Kerns was charged with 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, burglary 1st degree, burglary 3rd degree, and reckless endangerment.
