On today's date, the Frederick Police Department responded to an accident in the 400 block of E. Patrick St. and found a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Injuries not life-threatening.
On today's date, 01-03-2013, members of the Frederick Police Department's Patrol Division responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a motor vehicle in the 400 block of E. Patrick St. When officers arrived, they found a 30 year old male lying in the street. The male was a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle that was traveling west bound. The struck pedestrian was flown to University of MD Shock Trauma in Baltimore City more as a precaution. His injuries were not life threatening and he was alert and concious at the time of his transport. The investigation, which was comopleted by OFC W. Milyard, revealed that the pedestrian was at fault when he failed to utilize a cross walk and did not look for on coming traffic as he stepped into the roadway and into the path of the striking vehicle. No charges were filed against the driver of the automobile. The accident caused minor traffic congestion and took approximately 45 minutes to clear. Speed or alcohol were NOT a factor in this accident.
