Frederick Police detectives arrest man in shooting case..
On 12/19/2012, 1638 hours, Frederick Police Department received calls for shots fired in the 400 block of Hillcrest Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile, male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Officers performed immediate first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was then transported to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
Detectives from the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division were assigned to the case. Through the course of the investigation, detectives received information that the victim went to a residence in the 400 block of Hillcrest Dr. where an altercation ensued. During the altercation the suspect produced a handgun, threatening the victim. The suspect then shot the victim, striking the victim in the chest. The suspect, later identified as Dylan Grey, a 17yo male, of the 400 block of Hillcrest Dr. Frederick, MD was arrested. It was determined the suspect and victim know each other, and the incident was not a random event. Grey will be charged as an adult and will be transported to FCADC and charged with:
• 1st degree assault
• Reckless endangerment
• Handgun on person (wear, carry, transport handgun)
• Use of handgun in commission of violent crime
