The Frederick Police Department responded to the report of a vehicle that had driven into Sardi's Chicken restaurant, located at 50 N. McCain Dr.
On today's date, 11-03-12, at approximately 1229 hours, an off duty Frederick Police Department officer was notified of an accident where a large vehicle was driven into a restaurant located at 50 N. McCain Dr. (Sardi's Chicken). The officer discovered that a large SUV had driven into the restaurant and several patrons inside the restaurant were injured.
OFC Aaron Gregware was the on-duty officer investigating the accident. He discovered the driver of the vehicle was identified as Maria Flores-Garcia. Ms. Flores-Garcia was arrested for driving without a license and Negligent Driving. She was taken to Central Booking and is being processed at the time of this release.
The two patrons injured inside the restaurant suffered non-life threatening injuries. One of female patrons was taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown and the second female patron was treated on scene by EMS personnel and wanted to seek further treatment at a later time.
The building inspector for the City of Frederick was called to the scene and is currently working with the owners of the business to sure up the damage.
