Teelin Irish Dance’s “Celtic Storm” Returns to Weinberg

Teelin Irish Dance Company will once again bring their celebrated show “Celtic Storm” to the Weinberg Center for the Arts. Back by popular demand, the latest engagement is scheduled for Saturday, February 24 at 7:00pm.

Teelin Irish Dance’s “Celtic Storm” Returns to Weinberg

 

FREDERICK, Md., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 —Teelin Irish Dance Company will once again bring their celebrated show “Celtic Storm” to the Weinberg Center for the Arts. Back by popular demand, the latest engagement is scheduled for Saturday, February 24 at 7:00pm. The Columbia-based, award-winning company has enthralled audiences around the world with their cutting-edge choreography since 2001.

Tickets begin at $25 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301.600.2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick St. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.

In addition to numerous performances at public, private, and corporate events, the Teelin Irish Dance Company is also well known for its original productions of feature-length stage shows: Portraits of Ireland (2006-2011), StepDance (2012-2013), and Sláinte (2014). The group has appeared on stage at a number of prestigious venues, including the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, Stephens Hall Theatre at Towson University, the Chesapeake Arts Center in Brooklyn Park, and the Meyerhoff Auditorium at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The company is directed by Maureen Berry, the 2009 recipient of the Individual Artist award for Choreography from the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC). In addition to this honor, Gatley has performed with former Governor Martin O’Malley, Gaelic Storm (from the hit movie “Titanic”), Eileen Ivers (from Riverdance), at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and has toured worldwide with Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble.
