Flying Dog Film Series Screening of “The Princess Bride”to be Replaced with “Edward Scissorhands”

The Weinberg Center’s 2017-2018 Flying Dog Film Series will continue on Wednesday, October 25 with the 1992 Oscar-nominated drama “A Few Good Men.” The film will screen at 7:30pm, with a pre-show happy hour beginning at 6:30pm.

Flying Dog Film Series Continues with “A Few Good Men;” Screening of “The Princess Bride” to be Replaced with “Edward Scissorhands”

 

FREDERICK, Md., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 — The Weinberg Center’s 2017-2018 Flying Dog Film Series will continue on Wednesday, October 25 with the 1992 Oscar-nominated drama “A Few Good Men.” The film will screen at 7:30pm, with a pre-show happy hour beginning at 6:30pm. The film follows two U.S. Marines being charged with the murder of a fellow Marine, and the tribulations of their lawyers as they prepare their cases. The film was directed by Rob Reiner, written by Aaron Sorkin, and stars Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, and James Marshall. “A Few Good Men” is rated R for language.

In addition, the previously-announced screening of “The Princess Bride,” which had been scheduled for Wednesday, November 29 at 7:30pm, will be replaced with a screening of 1990’s “Edward Scissorhands” due to licensing restrictions. All tickets for “The Princess Bride” will be honored for “Edward Scissorhands” if so desired. Patrons holding tickets for “The Princess Bride” should contact the Box Office at 301.600.2828 to process an exchange or refund, or with any further questions.

“Edward Scissorhands” follows the suburban adventures of a lonely artificial creation with scissors for hands. The film was directed by Tim Burton, stars Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, and is rated PG-13.

Tickets for “A Few Good Men” and “Edward Scissorhands” are $5-$7 with discounts available for students, military, and seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301.600.2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick St.
